From Official Website:
The LSE currently has four halls of residence: Bankside House, Carr-Saunders Hall, Passfield Hall (closed for 2005/6) and Rosebery Hall; five self-catering blocks: Butlers Wharf, Great Dover Street, Grosvenor House, High Holborn and 18 houses at Silver Walk in Rotherhithe. All in all these residences can accommodate more than 2500 students offering a variety of styles, facilities and costs.
There are also eight intercollegiate halls which accommodate students from the LSE as well as the other Colleges of the University of London. These halls provide the opportunity to meet and socialise with a greater diversity of students. Approximately 20% of the School's first year undergraduates are accommodated in the intercollegiate halls.
LSE accommodation is offered on a random basis within quotas set out for each hall. In each residence, there will be a mixture of students; home and overseas, men and women, undergraduate and postgraduate. First year undergraduate degree students will occupy about 42% of all spaces. Postgraduates are expected to take about 34% of spaces in LSE halls, single year undergraduate courses such as General Course or Erasmus take about 14% and continuing students approximately 10%. The School is able to offer accommodation, in either LSE or Intercollegiate residences, to all first year undergraduate degree students who apply by the deadline (though we cannot guarantee that your offer will be for your preferred residence or in a single room). Students from within London should apply for halls if they require a space and whilst we cannot guarantee making an offer before term starts we would expect the last few students to be accommodated by the second week of term at the latest.
